jaka tarub

Jaka Tarub is a character of Indonesian Folklore from Mid Java. The story tells about how Jaka Tarub meets his beautiful wife, Dewi Nawangwulan. There're a lot of version actually. But this is one is the famous one. So, one day, Jaka Tarub go to a forbidden lake. The lake is a place for seven fairies to bath. He didn't mean to peep on them, but he's so amazed with the beauty of the fairies. Then, he took one of the fairies's shawl. When twilight comes, the fairies should fly back to heaven. Everyone has their own shawl except one, but they can't keep waiting for Dewi Nawangwulan, so they fly away and leave her alone on earth.

Dewi Nawangwulan cry, she's so upset. Jaka Tarub comes out and pretend to be the hunter and help Dewi Nawangwulan. He took her home and they married soon after they met. When they married, Dewi Nawangwulan makes Jaka Tarub promise to not open the bakul when she cook the rice. It is because she use her power to cook to keep the rice full on the barn. But one day, Jaka Tarub forgot and he open up the bakul. He's so surprised 'cause there's only a grain of rice in it. Dewi Nawangwulan knew it and so upset  on his husband. It makes Dewi Nawangwulan lost her power and become an ordinary woman. A human who needs to make it all alone with no magic. Slowly but sure, they running out of rice. One day, Dewi Nawangwulan finaly found her shawl on the barn, beneath the rice. Once again she's so upset on her husband and leave him forever. another mission! woohoo!!

A few months ago, my friend, Ruben, asked me to draw each of characters in Perahu Kertas novel. Since I am a huge fan of that novel, of course I say 'YES, I'LL DO IT!'. Unfortunately, this thesis things drives me crazy and I have no time to make it true. And a few hours ago, he reminds me about it... he asked me, once more, to make it true! And yes my dearest friend... I'll do it for you! I'll do it for me!! hahahha....xD

Oke.. I know it is too much!:p

Talking about Perahu Kertas, it's a novel from our favourite writer Dewi Dee Lestari. It has a beautiful story about love and friendship. About the process for teenager to be mature. About how we manage jealousy and how to forgive mistakes on our past. Once you read it, you just can't stop!:)

Ah.. here's the cover of the book. Entertaining, right?;)

javanese brides

For me, the style of Javanese brides always looks good. It makes a woman looks pretty, graceful, and honorable.

When I was a child, I've dreamed about my wedding and I want to be exactly like this. Well, it's impossible for now, but... whatever... I love the way I am and still, I'd be the prettiest woman on my wedding day someday! With or without this Javanese brides looks.. hehehe..:)

elephant?

A few days ago, I went to Kebun Bibit. It's like a city park on Surabaya. There're full of tree, deer, kids and their parents, even young couples. It's a nice place to get some fresh air in the middle of the city. Surabaya is a kind of busy city, but when I'm on Kebun Bibit, everything seems to be different. I meant, I don't feel like I'm in Surabaya. It's a very nice place to get my self calm..:)

Anyway, when I was there with my friend, He said that there was an elephant! I saw his eyes pointing on something and when I saw the spot he pointed at, well...  Surprise! Surprise! I saw this big guy wore Thailand shirt with a picture of elephant on it!

God! In a second I said to my self, "Now which one is the elephant? cause they look similar!". Ups...
I laugh out loud that time! I hope the guy with the elephant on his shirt didn't notice... . :D

napping time

I remember how my sister in-laws and her daughter are looks cute when they had their napping time. They are slept in the same pose. And they look beautiful!:)

By the way, considering a friend suggestion a few days ago, from now on, I won't give any watermarks on my works... Congrats me!:D

Yes, at first I think watermark is important. But I have to admit that it's not easy to covering our work with watermark. It's like covering our own children with mask and it's too bad. But, for you who gives those watermarks on your work, I believe it's good for you, guys. However, we have our own thoughts about it, right?:)

So, with or without watermarks, keep our best on our works! Happy Monday, guys!;)
