Drawing Demo

Gramedia Bookstore - Pondok Indah Mall 1 - Jakarta

See... I'm in a Missing Kuga mode right now...
As I say earlier on my previous post, sometimes I just want to play with him everywhere!
So yes... I bring Kuga whenever my pen go...
(^____^)

Kuga - batik technique

Have you ever heard about Batik?
A friend of mine said that Batik is not only from Indonesia.
If you googling "Batik", you'll find a lot of batik patterns from various country.
In Indonesia, we make Batik pattern with a tool named canting.

That's, Canting!

and here is me... holding canting and... membatik..
For me, membatik is like meditation..
Kinda therapy...:)

Recently, I join a small batik workshop, held by a community named Mbatikyuuuk.
on today session, I ask a blank handkerchief so I can draw it with my own illustration.
I wanna draw Kuga on it. You know, my imaginary pets.
I just looooove elephant for its cute and chubby shape.
(^___^)

So, here's Kuga, before the coloring.

And here's Kuga, after :

What do you think?
Hope you like it, folks....;)

happy birthday chelsea!

A quick illustration for mba Tri and her brother's niece named Chelsea.
She said Chelsea is having a birthday party today.
Her 1st birthday party and mba Tri wants to make her a card.
Though she can't read it yet, but someday she will, right?

-If... her mom keep the card for her-

ah ya... you're right!
well... let's hope so, then!

(^_____^)

Drawing Demo Day #4

Gramedia Bookstore - Pluit Village - Jakarta

These are my works on Drawing Demo Day #4.
Thank God it's the last day of the event.

Today demo was tiring!
There are so many customer coming.
so many kids at our creative corner.
I like it. But sometimes they drive me nuts by their 'magical' behavior.
Some of them would scream to each other,
Won't share the tools with others,
Or got upset when they feel like they can't draw nicely and asking for more paper.
Well, not that I don't want to give them the paper.
I just annoyed by how easy they give up.
And some of them refused to draw by themselves,
even though I've teach them how to draw from the basic shapes.
Hhh....

I love kids.... I do love kids...
But not these kind of kids....

Ah... let's skip the work of Drawing Demo Day #3...
Yesterday was not going very well thou'...

Drawing Demo Day #2

Day #2 :

Gramedia Mall Cijantung, Jakarta.

I go there with a new guy on my division named Oka.
Since he's new to it, I have to train him how to demo.
And it's easier when he join me there.
I can draw quietly and he play with the kids while I draw.
And so him.

The first image is my work. solo.
The second one is a kind of collaboration.
I make the illustration, then Oka help me with the colour.

enjoy!:)

Drawing Demo Day #1

As I say yesterday,
I will upload the artwork(s) I made on drawing demo for my office program this month.
The Drawing Demo was held for 6 hours, And I draw on A2 paper, using Jumbo Connector Pen,
Sometimes I have to play with the kids on creative corner.
So, each artwork usually takes about 1.5 to 2.5 hrs

On the 1st Day of Back to School Event yesterday,
these are the work:

 1st drawing

and this one is the 2nd one!
I don't like it actually...
:p

ah... once again, sorry for the picture quality...

Friday 8 July 2011

I saw her twitter profile by accident..
I even forget the way I found her page..
I only remember her picture is too cool to be missed...
so I draw her!

Monday 4 July 2011

finally : updated!

I'm in a lack-of-motivation mode right now.
I have a few idea of what to draw,
but somehow, I just can't make my hand hold the pencil properly...
I just can't sketch perfectly..
and a few days ago, a friend of mine sent me an instant message.
she ask me to update my blog..

well, not that I don't want to, dear...
I miss my blog too actually... :)

and finally...
thanks for my office's program this month...
they sent everybody from my division
to introduce our coloring technique to the audience at the book stores,
every week, every Saturday to Sunday!
so that's the only condition for me to make some artworks...

hahahahaha....:D

sorry for the picture quality by the way..
But I hope you like it!
:)

Wednesday 18 May 2011

ruffly ruffle

I made this one for my friend named Okky.
She's going to transform it into cut paper illustration.
Can't wait to see the result!

collaboration

It comes in mind when I read perempuansore's blog.
I love her picture..
That is why I wanna draw her.
But yes... failed!
It's not look a like at all!
hahahahaha....:))

And this one too...
I try to make a sketch of her, but my father do the colour with watercolour pad..
a very different version..
However, it is good to be collaborate with him.
he's very concern about my monotone style..
That is why he's encourage me to colour better..
to be brave. brave to play.
with aaaaaall the colours I have.

Thank's, Pak....
I love you!:*

:)

Monday 7 March 2011

I made it when I'm stuck working on my progress.
A picture of me!

Friday 4 March 2011

sleepy panda

Dunno why but these past few days,,
I feel soooo exhausted!
So sleepy...
So dizzy...
And my eye bags become soooooo sexy...
(hohoho....:D)

Monday 21 February 2011

on a break

Today the computer at my office is working very sloooow!
I don't know why...
So,, while waiting it to load data,
I did some experiment... Um... more like trial actually...
I try the watercolour pad product from Faber-Castell...

I make it simple..
And the most simple thing I can do is to draw face..
and, this is what comes in mind this evening..

What do you think?
Honestly, me myself is a bit surprised with the result..
I LIKE IT!!
The colour and the effect is different with my watercolour pad at home..
The layer is soft... the character is rich..
well, I don't know how to describe...

But, try it yourself!
(I'm not trying to promote my company's product here though!:p )

Monday 14 February 2011

blushing

So... Happy valentine's day everybody!!
And.... happy birthday for me and my twin...:)

Here's... a new artwork of mine..
Noo.... it's not about me and my twin brother..
It tells about, how shy they are when they meet each other...
and their cheeks blushing when they realized something might be happened between them..
there're sparks though they are not the same..
well, simply like gloria and melman on madagascar!
You can see how they should not belong to each other..
but however... that is how the love works... or maybe the cupid...
hahahaha...:D

You'll never know, who's the right guy or girl the God sent to you...
Could be somebody like you, or somebody you'll never had in mind instead..
whatever it is,, don't worry to fall in love!

Enjoy!;)

Happy Chinese New Year

Hey!! It's rabbit year already!!
So, I'd like to say, Happy Chinese New Year Everyone!
Gong Xi Fa Cai
(^____^)

----

Anyway,, here's the latest artwork made by me and Rizal Tri Susanto.
Mas Rizal (the way I call him), is an illustrator on PT. Faber-Castell International Indonesia.
He's awesomely good on his work.
The artwork above is made by him, but I'm the conceptor.
That is why I said it is made by us! hehehe...:D

So, the concept is about the fortune rabbit.
I completely blank at first.
Really don't know how to illustrate this 'fortune rabbit'.
All I can think about is how to combine, the Fu word and the image of the rabbit.
FYI, Fu means luck.

And... this is it! Enjoy!:)

Happy New Year 2011

I'm sorry for being late on uploading this work. Been so busy these days... hehehe...
So, here's my newest work and I did it for my office's e-greeting for new year.

At Faber-Castell, where I work now, we have several techniques to colouring our work with connector pen. There're squiggling, contouring, pointilism, shading, and patterning. squiggling is a technique using tangled line to fill the empty space of your picture. contouring, well maybe you already knew what it means?? yes... we fill our work with a contour line of the shape at our picture. pointilism, is filling the space with dots. a pretty combination of dots!while shading, is making shade of colours to make value of our work. the last one, is patterning. patterning is my favourite technique, 'cause all we need to do, is making pattern to fill the empty space of our picture. it is so easy. you can make flowery pattern, circle pattern, or you can combine more than two basic shapes on your patterning technique. these colouring techniques brings you a lot of fun and a new way to learn colouring, right? let's try it yourself! And you'll find the fun of it!:)

Ah.. and here's the final e-greetings after we put the illustration on the corporate frame.
So.... Happy New Year 2011, everyone! Wish you a fabulous year ever!;)
